The Bell at Skenfrith Restaurant has won many awards for its food including the ‘Best Place to Eat – Pub’ in the Wales National Tourism Awards, as voted by the public and Joseph Colman, Head Chef of the The Bell’s restaurant, has been selected for the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2024
Joseph, who is from Tenby in Wales, regularly changes his menus. The produce is seasonal and sourced locally, with some from our own kitchen garden. Special dietary requirements and vegetarian dishes can usually be organised but we ask that you do let us know of these in advance or when booking.
Please note that we really rely on your punctuality when booking a meal with us and politely ask that you let us know if you are running late for your reservation (over 15 minutes). If we haven’t heard from you by this time, we may have to release the table you have reserved. Should you need to cancel your Restaurant reservation, please let us know in good time so we can give the opportunity to someone else.
The Restaurant’s dress code is smart/casual, whereas the front of the restaurant, near the bar, is more relaxed. Due to the Restaurant layout, we do not offer tables for more than 6 people and cannot accommodate large parties across multiple tables. If you would like to reserve a table for more than 6, please enquire about hiring The Wine Room, our beautiful private dining room.
We have limited the amount of the indoor tables available and, even though we have a lovely outside seating area, unfortunately we cannot always rely on the Welsh weather, so therefore, we do not reserve tables outside! However, if the garden is open (late spring, summer and early autumn) guests are welcome, on arrival, to enquire about available tables.
Children are most welcome at The Bell. However, only children over the age of 8 may dine in the restaurant in the evenings. We are more than happy to arrange special meals and early suppers for them.
DOGS – Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the front of the Restaurant (near the bar) and the garden terrace if it is open.
Currently, we are closed Sunday evenings and all day Monday and Tuesday. However, lunch is served from 12pm to 2.30pm and Dinner from 18.30 to 20.30 Wednesday to Saturday and we are open for drinks from 12pm on those days.
On Sundays, we serve a traditional lunch from 12pm until 3pm and then we close.

We ask all our guests and visitors to make a reservation first before coming to The Bell by emailing reception@thebellatskenfrith.co.uk or calling us on 01600 750235. If we do not answer straight away, please do leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
